Text overlays: Yes or no?

More information or a cinema look?

When you start a new video, you're spoiled for choice: “Should I put text in the intro?” and “Is my logo enough at the end or does my phone number have to go there?”

There is no “right” or “wrong” here — both variants have their own charm.

Here I'll show you the differences in effect so that you can choose your favorite.

1. The intro: Text overlays — yes or no?

The start of your video is critical. How should it work?

Option A: With text overlay (The Informative Style)

Here I am showing facts right at the start (e.g. “Villa in Munich | 1.5 million €”).

  • The effect: That creates immediate lucidity. The viewer doesn't have to guess, but receives the most important key data (“hard facts”) directly. It looks like a classic cover page — only as a video.

Option B: Without text (The Cinematic Style)

Here I'll let the picture speak for itself.

  • The effect: It looks very elegant, calm and cinematic — like a small movie. Nothing distracts from the architecture.
  • The “scroll stopper”: Worried that the video starts boring without text? Don't be afraid! For that I have my Visual Hooks built in. With my special zooms and movements at the beginning, I automatically captivate the eye. The movement is the hook, not the text.
  • Important note about advertisements (ads): If you're planning to advertise the video, please note: Platforms often place their own buttons over the video. An intro text could be partially obscured as a result. Without text, you are on the safe side so that nothing appears “cut off.”

2. The outro: Just logo or full contact power?

The video is over. What is the last impression you want to make?

Option A: Only the logo (the minimalistic look)

At the end, I only show your company logo on a clean background.

  • The effect: It looks very “big” and tidy — similar to TV commercials from well-known brands. The focus is 100% on your brand (Branding). It looks very self-confident and design-oriented.

Option B: Logo + Profile Picture + Contact (The Personal Look)

Here I show your logo, your face (profile picture) and your data (phone/email/website).

  • The effect: That is very approachable and personal. It shows: “There is a real person here, call me!” The viewer is served all the information they need to reach you directly without having to search for your number first.

Marton's conclusion

You've got the directing flap in your hands!

  • Do you like it informative and personal? Then intro texts and contact outros are your thing.
  • Do you like it cinematic, clean and minimalistic? Then omit the text and rely on Visual Hooks and your logo.

You can decide this again for each video in the “Video overlays” step. Just try out what you like better!
